We put the fun in fundraising.
As many of you know, Zac and I are currently training to run the 2010 Los Angeles Marathon scheduled for March 21.

Because of your support in 2008, Global Water contributed to the training of 16 Peace Corps volunteers who built hand washing stations, toilet facilities, wells, and rain water collection and storage devices at schools in Guatemala as part of Global Water’s Healthy Schools Program. This means that more than 300 children were directly benefitted by our fundraising, as a full 80% of the diseases that kill children worldwide are caused by drinking contaminated water, and children sick with water-borne diseases aren’t able to go to school.

Peace Corps volunteers laying the foundation and wall for a combination latrine and hand washing station fed by rain water. We made this happen!
And we did this all in the name of Andrea’s father, Pasquale Scarpino, who was an educator and microbiologist who dedicated his work to water issues.
So here’s where you fit in. We’re setting our sights on raising $3,000 to fund another Healthy Schools project in Guatemala, and we need your help! Please contribute as much as you’re able by sending us a check by March 21 (our address is below). We will collect the checks and deliver them to Global Water after the marathon is over.
Your checks are tax-deductible, and can be made out to “Global Water Water Supply Fund.”
For added incentive, we’ve expanded our swag list to include three bonus levels of giving—just click on the Swag! link for more information!
You can also track our fundraising progress by checking out our official blog.
Come on! Together, we can make a real difference!
